When asked- Ransomware has assumed a proportion of pandemics and how the covid pandemic have escalated the use of Ransomware attacks? Bob Adhar, CEO and Founder of Randtronics, participated in the Plenary Session responded that there is a perfect storm leading to an increase in Ransomware attacks which will keep on persisting. One reason is a temporary shift of criminals from drugs to cybercrimes. Another reason he briefly touched on was a shift in geopolitical politics, happening rapidly. Here we are talking about the U.S, China, India, Australia, UK, & Europe. There is a substantial shift in politics adding to the environment.

โPrioritize securityโ Vaishno Chaitanya, Security Researcher & Consultant in Ramognee Technologies, stressed in the track session about App Modernization. Along with the notion of API security not being an afterthought or considered โsomeone elseโs problem.โ Organizations have a lot to lose with unsecured APIs, so it’s important to make API security a priority and build it into the API’s as they are developing. Since APIs are essentially a developerโs tool, they often contain keys, passwords, and other information that should be removed before theyโre made publicly available. But sometimes, this step is overlooked. Organizations should incorporate scanning tools into their DevSecOps processes to limit the accidental exposure of secret information.
